A transit — gochar — is simply where a graha is in the sky right now, as opposed to where it was when you were born. Prediction comes from reading one against the other: transiting Saturn crossing your natal Moon is Sade Sati; transiting Jupiter reaching your fifth house is a classical window for children and study.
This means a transit on its own is only half the picture. The same Saturn transit lands on a different house for every rashi, which is why two people feel the same sky completely differently.
Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer are the two that matter most for the year ahead — Saturn stays roughly two and a half years in a sign, Jupiter about one. Rahu in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo hold their axis for about eighteen months.
To see which of your houses these transits are activating, you need your birth chart, not just your sign. Generate your free kundli, or use the transit chart calculator.
